Bought this from a handmade pedal maker MZFX on etsy and Reverb. Thought this was what my tone needed, but it is not. the hunt for new pedals continues.
it's an overdrive pedal built into a sauce can!

I have a Thompson plywood bass. The peg is about 18 inches long. I set it up with about 4 inches out of the bass. The socket takes 3 3/4 inches. Some times the peg vibrates when I hit a C on the A string, sometimes it doesn't. Is there any reason that I shouldn't lop 8 inches off the top of the...
Hi All,
I bought a Hofner Ignition project that was more of a project than I expected
I have to replace all of the screws for adjusting the pickup height. Does anyone know where I can purchase said screws, or what size screw they are?
Thanks!
Title says it all. The amp is powered by AA batteries and is supposed to be 10 watt. At $35 if it is even remotely useful as an outdoor campfire amp it'd be great. Opinions please.
I know that ReRanch has it but by the time you add their minimum shipping its $40 for a couple of ounces. I don't need much but there must be a better source!
I guess I'm venturing, in minor way, into some luthier activity. I have a fretless with an ebony board and lines. The lines bother me a bit, so I was thinking of getting some black lacquer in a can to cover the fret board. Is this a good or bad idea?
So I recently found these and fell in love! I ordered one and arrives tomorrow. The price is very cheap and for my current Blues band. It is just perfect.
Comes with a few different designs and with Maple or Rosewood neck.
Current price in Australia is between $260-280 USD.

I absolutely love these Round-wound strings. The Labella 760FL (flatwound version) are easy to get here in EU but 760RL are sold out everywhere and nobody seems to restock. I am on my last set and searched every platform I know of, from thomann all the way to reverb. There is no place I can buy...
As above
Probably a rare bird in my neck of the woods, which may be why I have not seen or noticed before. What is going on here?. Is this factory? What's the reasoning?
I ran across this video and had to watch it twice (so far). In their sleep, these guys can probably play licks that I can only dream about playing. Maybe if I practiced about 12 hours a day for the next year or so. :bassist::bassist::bassist::bassist:
I run a high end studio with a 8038 neve .. I make records and have been recording for over thirty years
I need some help from the brains trust
I have a 1964 p bass running labella flats
And I have a 1961 slab bass that I bought fairly recently running round wounds ..
so the round wounds...
Let's assume a typical pop/rock band: Drums, Guitar, Keyboard, Bass, and Vocals. The PA is for vocals only. Your mix is going to be based on the acoustic sound of the drums, so it's not a simple matter of turning your amps as loud as they'll go. Assuming it's an indoor gig, how big a crowd can...
Hi,
This is my first post. I joined because of an unusual gear set up question. I’m an acoustic guitarist using SWR gear. I have a Strawberry Blonde amp, which as you probably know is an 80 watt amp that can handle all acoustic instruments.
I’m looking to add a bit more power and bottom end...
Hello, I'm new to bass, I bought used bass guitar and I wonder if I could upgrade it somehow?
Can you tell me something about these electronics, bridge and pickups?
The pickups have no name, they are probably the original, does that mean they are bad ?
I just want to know if it is worth for me...
I have had a 50th anniversary Fender Jazz 5 string since it came out in 1996 as a bday gift from Dad. The low B string, for as long as I can remember has always sounded like it's an old string. Tried maaaaany different brands and it stays the same for all. I finally tried stringing it E - C...
We had bad feedback problems last night playing outdoors on an open-air patio. Feedback was primarily through the mains (stage monitors off). Nothing much in front of us for reflections. We did have a wooden wall behind us and a glass wall to the left of us (we were tucked in a building...
i know the Gallien-Krueger 112MBX 1X12" Bass Extension Speaker is an extension speaker, but a couple user reviews said you could use it as a standalone cab. anyone here able to do that? if so, how does it sound - does it have some of the GK voice?
GK's website doesn't list this cab, so may be...
I have a Traynor YBA 1 Bass Master and want to try something different. I want to replace the 12ax7 in stage one with 12 ay7 but don't know if the tube closest to the power tubes is the right one or the pre amp tube on the opposite end?
Hi guys, I'm new here. Thanks for having me!
I'm a guitar player who just dabbles on bass around the house and at the occasional jam. I have a couple of old P-Basses and a fretless Jazz Bass.
I'm not into what would be considered "modern" bass tones, and I don't need a ton of power. I also...
I feel much in the same way as David Ellefson, in that mirroring the guitar is kind of wasting a bass line (many people have done it and it works extremely well. I just want to do something different), so what can I do when the guitar is playing riffs?
Hey guys!
I have a few quick questions.
I am probably gonna need and extension cabinet for my TC BG250-208 within a few weeks.
My budget is quite limited, but I want something that matches the looks of the combo, and so I am considering one of the following TC cabs:
BC-208
K-115
K-210
The...
Hi all!
I'm in a weird situation right now as I already have a decent sound card and home setup but my wife has started taking guitar lessons and wants to be able to record her guitar and ideally vocals as well on her laptop.
Therefore, since she wants to be portable, she can't use my gear...
I made a little discovery earlier with my sr bass.
The preamp has a 0db and +6db input. You have to pull a connector and reconnect it to another slot.
I'm assuming Ibanez uses this pre with different pickups. Most likely the Barts and Nords.
I wonder if the nords are hotter and use the 0db...
So a bass that I have an eye on has a mahogany body(think Fender P-lyte Deluxe or Ibanez Sr3000) and it does have a few scuffs, visible wear above the neck pickup and some wear around the plucking area when slapped. I know it wont affect playability but its more of an eye sore. Are there any...
I know I'm asking a lot, but can someone transcribe a song for me? It's 15 seconds in a song and they're playing slap. I want to learn it but it's so hard to hear the bass for me. I don't know if anyone is willing to do it.
I'm a little baffled by these pickups. I came across these used and am trying to figure out what model they are and I noticed only one lead from both pickups. I stripped back the insulation and there are three wires inside. I'm assuming I use the white and black leads... But, I popped off the...
So I have an old and fairly rare Ampeg SVT-100 head. It sounds lovely! Unfortunately, it doesn't have a DI, because it is very old and was made on the cheap during one of Ampeg's numerous corporate transitions.
I'm been GAS'ing for one of the small Ampeg portaflex amps, the PF-20t and PF-50t...
Someone has this for sale in my local Facebook marketplace, and I've never seen a headstock like this before. The body almost looks like a peavey, but the knobs appear to be p-bass. Maybe a custom?
Can anyone help identify this bass?
Thanks in advance!
It came for free with an amp, and has a 15” speaker. two input jacks.
no tag, nothing.
possibly homebuilt although it looks sturdy, and very well put together.
don’t want to tear apart to see inside....
thanks for checking it out
