Can't deside between 2 effect pedals...

I like slapping a lot, and I wanna add some Chorus now and then, but I like metal a lot too, a lot of low basslines, which makes distortion very attractive...

Now I can only choose 1 pedal, so what makes it easier to decide?

I just bought a hardwire tube overdrive, I love it. It'll add some sparkle to your slap tone, or give you some really heavy overdrive as well, which can be good for metal, depending on what you're into...

I live in Europe, so I pay with Euro's I have 110 euro to spend.. A Boss CEB-3 Bass Chorus is about 99 euro and a Boss OBD-3 Bass Overdrive is 109 euro.

The only thing I can think of that adds chorus and distortion is a protone raven... It's great for some really dramatic low bass lines. I have slapped with it and it's not horrible. But if your slapping gets sloppy it doesn't sound so good... but I guess that's true regardless.

Are you sure the ODB-3 is going to do 'metal' for you, in your rig? At most settings it makes a flat buzzy sound that's not at all 'metal'... though it can sound ok depending on what you run it into.

I'm sure there are plenty of choruses you can get S/H for less than €50.

There's a lot of metal in your preferences, so I'd go for dirt before chorus, you'd probably end up using it more right away.

Guys might chime in proposing various solutions other than the ODB-3 (I have no experience with it, but I've heard a few clips, sounds OK to me), but I would look into the Ibanez PD-7, if you can get one. Quite a versatile and dirty little bugger.

I'm probably not the expert. Why not find a couple of youtube clips of the kind of tones you're after and start a thread asking for suggestions within your price range?

The PD-7 as suggested already would be better than the ODB-3 IMO, and should only be €40 ish second hand.

I'm listening some clips right now as we speak and it sounds great! Wow! Has a lot of possibility's on it, with those knobs and switches I think I'll go for some overdrive

Get both!

If you're looking to use it live, chorus gets lost and unheard faster then distortion. If you're mostly playing at crappy bars or backyard parties, I'd go with distortion since chorus (unless it's pretty extreme) doesn't really get heard or noticed live.

Most pedals work well for guitar and bass. Not a bad idea to check clips on youtube, info here on TB and user reviews on Harmony Central before buying and always try when you can. FWIW, almost half of my effects are non bass-specific pedals (fuzz, phaser and chorus).

Ghehe, yes TB is very great to discus about these kind of things Otherwise I might have taken a pedal that I wouldn't like so much..I do know what kind of pedal I want now

Well I got the Ibanez PD-7 this morning and it is fantastic! Never knew a pedal could have so much possibility's!! Thanks a billion for the advices everybody! This thing is much better then the Boss ODB-3!
