I'd say go with distortion. It'll probably be more useful.

If you do, you should consider the unit I settled on: the Source Audio multiwave bass distortion. (I have the "pro" version.) It has the benefit of a zillion settings, some of which sound like good ol' rock n roll distortion, some of which give synthy sounds, some of which give octaver-type sounds. Now that I have it, I wouldn't even consider any of the one-trick-pony distortion pedals no matter how good they are at that one trick.

Well I got the Ibanez PD-7 this morning and it is fantastic! Never knew a pedal could have so much possibility's!! Thanks a billion for the advices everybody! This thing is much better then the Boss ODB-3!

Sure sure! Funny thing is that a friend of mine (who's an electric guitar player), just bought one yesterday hahaha. Perhaps it's better to try that one first and see what I think about it!

Congrats with your overdrive, but I think chorus is overrated. I've owned a few chorus pedals, but couldn't get along with them. Another thing you could consider is a cheap looper (a used Boss RC2 or similar). It's a wonderful toy and practicing tool that adds a new dimension to playing alone. If I were to own just two pedals it would certainly be an overdrive and a looper.

Interesting idea! Tried the CF-7 pedal and it wasn't that bad at all. Still, I'll stick to the PD-7 for now

Don't care for looper pedals. I have a computer with digital audio workstation software on it. That's really the way to go for that kind of thing, IMO.

The advantage of a digital audio workstation, is that you have a lot of possibility's! More then connecting 10 pedals together
