Can't find a decent 210

I've been hitting up music stores and trying different 210s, but I can't seem to find a good one. It's not that I am expecting it to sound massive or something, it's actually just for recording. All the major companies seem to make crap, or it's horrendously overpriced.

I will be playing an Ampeg V4 through this 210, so it needs pretty high power handling since those things are monstrously loud. I don't like super-articulate tone. I like warm, growly, low-middy, not too punchy, rock-oriented tone, hence the P-Bass Ill be plugging into the V4.

I've checked out Ear Candy Cabs, but they seemed a little overpriced, or at least out of my price range. I also looked at Avatar but Neo speakers scare me away, as I've noticed that they tend to lack the really low end, even for a 10-inch speaker, and that could be a big problem in a 210 which I don't expect to have crazy low end as it is. I don't play a fiver but I do tune to DGCF so this can be important.

If anyone can point me to some cabs to check out, that would be awesome. Thanks!

I've got an Avatar 2x10 with Eminence Kappa Pro speakers in it (was offered on them a while back before the NEO's got so popular). I've played many gigs with this cab & my SVT-CL. For the money, I really like my Avatar 2x10... you could always do a speaker swap & sell the NEOs.

And if it just for studio recording, not trying to derail this thread... but, there are MANY options for direct recording that sound fantastic.

The Mesa Boogie 210 Cabs sound amazing, but in my opinion if you're going to use it you need an extension 15 or 18. If you have that the sound is pretty unbelievable. And Mesas handle copious amounts of power, so you don't have to worry about blowing them

I have an Aguilar GS-210 and it's built like a tank and sounds wonderful.
However, it appears they've stopped making that one so you may find a used one.
In the meantime they make this one:
