Can't find a decent 210

I had the fortunate opportunity to try the 2x10's of an Avatar, Carvin AND Peavey, all used cabs at my local Guitar Center recently. Avatar came out on top, Carvin & Peavey were pretty darn close to each other. Being an owner of an Acme I can say without a doubt that the Avatar does not have lows anywhere near the Acme, but it did outperform the Carvin and Peavey.

The eden 210xlt is one sweet cab. Not loud enough for my needs, but the time I had it, was great at home, and pretty good at rehearsals. But my bands play crazy loud.

Now I have a Berg AE210. Some days I like, some days less. It is still a top quality cab, and I love my HS410, so I guess I should have gotten a HS210. Oh well.

Thanks for all the opinions. After reading everything and doing some more research, it seems like I would be best off going for the Avatar 212. Has anyone used it? It seems like that cab will give me everything I am looking for but it would appear that I am going to have to buy it without hearing it.

I think the Avatar b212 will be great for you based on what you said in your original post.

I had one and loved it's weight and portability, but it was actually to meaty for what I was doing at the time. Now I could make use of it and be very happy with it along with 1 of my 2 b210's. But honestly the vert stacked b210's are perfect for me.

Not to derail too much, but can you give us details as to why you're "one the fence" about the AE210?

I recently sold an IP112 to move to a more modular rig, and picked up an AE210. I might be feeling like you...

I agree. Probably the best cab Hartke ever made and they quit making it. Tight and LOW!

^ I know that one had a 5" mid, but anyone know if that cab (& speakers) were similar to the ones in their early '90s 210 combo? The one with the 3500 (not the HA3500) head?
