Double Bass Carbon\Fibre Glass End Pin

Are all end pins standard in size?...If i wanted to get a carbon or fibre glass end pin for my bass, would I have issues finding one or are end pins pretty much all the same?

I was advised by a teacher that my endpin needed replacing and I ordered a carbon fibre one by mail order.

I would have had no idea how to fit it - but I got a local strings workshop to do it and they said it was no problem.

10 mm is the most common end pin shaft size then 12 and 1/2" and sometimes as large as
large as 14 or 16mm. assuming that you are just talking about the pin itself, if not, that tapers are all over the place.

there is a problem with just putting a carbon fiber pin into a different taper though, carbon fiber pins will get crushed and show damage from a set screw if it is not designed to avoid that problem
