Carl Thompson bass tribute - building process

Just to show you a 77 CT bass tribute I'm order from a luthier friend of mine . The Brazilian Rosewood top is killer ! Which center Block do you prefer ? The Lacewood one or the "Pau Ferro' ? The Luthier is Kian Guitars www.kian.com.br .

Padouk might look really good and maybe break it up with some maple veneer or something. Thats some killer rosewood you got. Quite rare.

I happened to use padouk and lacewood on my latest build. Heres how it looks finished.

The padouk is the red parts of the neck

I agree with curbokid, padauk would my choice as well or maybe bloodwood.

Yes ! Lacewood I think will contrast better !

Great looking rosewood and bass. Are you use laminates around the center block? (maybe you can (book)match a center from the rosewood leftovers?)

Thanks ! I will jus use an ebony stripes around the center block. 77's CT basses weren't so much detailed and I want to keep this spirit !

The round shape inside the bass side is a chamber?

And the bridge look like a wooden bridge, isn't it?

Let us know more details! Neck woods, fretless or fretted, scale, PU....And the neck will be angled with an heel block or not???

Chambers to save weight. I have 3 CT basses and their weight is about just 4kg !

You can find the Schaller Humbuckers through Schaller website germany !
