Carrying Sheet Music

When I first started with my teacher we went over so many songs that I got those plastic sheets, and put it in a binder but found the plastic sheets were so slippery that they would always fall off the music stand. So that method was stopped.

Then I continued to use the plastic sheet for each song but just as a holder but that got annoying for they are not always easy to get into the sheet. So that method was stopped.

So one day I walked around Staples and found something useful: a clear plastic folder with a zip seal. But now that I am playing bass we are going through so many song so fast. So the sheets are adding up but I always need all songs with me for you never know what he will want to work on.

SO...I went to Staples again looking for something else. Was going for more of a leather folder or something but every single thing I found has binder clips which I will never use.

So what do you use to hold all your music?

Ring binder. Alphabetize your songs and carry post it notes to make changes on. If you have charts where you have to turn pages quickly, buy some tabs to stick to the pages.

I'v had them both in use for the past 5 years with zero hiccups and 100% satisfaction. Find an iKlip or similar clip device to mount an iPad to a mic stand.
There are numerous mounting devices available now.

All the time you've spent keeping track of all your sheet music and wondering around Staples could have better spent practicing.

Also, not being a "fan" of a tablet that can solve your sheet music control problem is short-sighted. Tech is tech; whatever works.

Investing some money into tech is just that, it's not an expense.

I used to do the first, now I do the second. I use an ipad and ForScore. Buy a used ipad 2, that is all you need to run ForScore. Well worth the investment.

may not be for everyone, but works for me.

I used to use notebooks full of lead sheets. got very cumbersome, and forget about putting in setlist order in minutes.
No longer.
I've made the time and $ "investment" to go digital. Not exaggerating, I have over 1000 song files in my iPad
I'm regularly playing in 4 different bands, 2 different genres, on keys and bass.
Only way I could have all those songs in one place (other than my head) would be digitally.
