Carryon by Blackstar Mini-bass

What kind of photos of it do you want to see?

The strings on mind at least, look and feel heavier than a standard 45-105 set and are higher tension too

Here's a photo I took quickly next to a bass with Rotosound Swing Bass 45-105

I meant pictures of the entire instrument. You know, as is tradition here on the Basses subforum.

Back to discussing strings, they do look larger than the Rotosounds.
If roundwounds are fine by you, check out the Dogal Tiny Boy RW160TB. They're also 45-105, but they probably have round-section, thin cores and should be noticeably more flexible, and perhaps also have less tension proper (lengthwise pull).
If you're open to exploring flats, Dogal also makes a flatwound version, the JC106TB.
Both the above options shouldn't be too hard to find in Japan. Here they are, for visual reference, on the Tiny Boy website:

Alternatively, this nylon-core, nickel-wound flatwound set that Pyramid makes

has been reported to work on a Tiny Boy 23" electric bass (there is enough metal on the string to be 'read' by magnetic pickups):

Just wanted to chime in here. Blackstar is sending us a Carry-On ST Bass for review, so stay tuned for a in-depth look and unbiased opinion. We'll be reviewing the playability as well as comparing it to some other basses (long and short scale). We should be receiving the bass soon and then we'll get to putting it through the paces. Once we're done, it will be posted on our YouTube channel like all of our other review/sound tests. I'll try to remember to post in this thread when it's published!

Why does your bass have the Blackstar logo (cool) on the headstock, while the basses on their website say Carry On (not cool) on the headstock?

I haven't received mine in the mail yet, so I'm assuming you meant to reply to another user. That being said, the basses on Blackstar's site seem to have a picture with the normal logo, plus a pickguard. The picture on the Carry On site, have the words on the headstock and are without the pickguard.

Oh, I see that you posted that in your earlier comment too, my bad. It's strange that there would be a difference in our weights. I wonder if my scale isn't accurate enough. I don't find the bass heavy for my uses, but I totally understand your concern due to baggage allowances. That's a whole different thing. Most of my basses are around 9 lbs, so this feels light to me :)

That's a drag. There are some options available, but they are either expensive or hard to get. This looks interesting but I don't know if they would ship it to me Clifton 32 Inch Mini Bass Precision Bass | Lazada PH

I picked up one of these Blackstar Carry on Travel basses the other week, having really liked their Carry On Travel guitar I got.

The basses are larger and heavier than their guitar counterparts but still a small bass. I really like mine. It's very good and I don't even need to mess with its setup.

My Blackstar bass weights in at 5 lbs and 15 oz. I have a Squier Mini P-bass which weighs in at 6 lbs 3 oz.

Yeah, mine weighs a little over 5 lbs too. I totally dig it!
