I think ipe is a bit too red-brown to match walnut. I vote rosewood again.

I usually treat all fretboards to keep them from drying out either fretted or fretless and that usually makes them darker then the fresh cut or sanded wood. And for porous woods to keep then from loading up with filth.Could you just sand and polish the rosewood with no added oil or finish at the end? Is it a naturally oily wood, or does it tend to be dry when not oiled?
