Carvin LB75 ressurection

Sounds like the perfect disguise/distraction to order a ton of crap and have it sent to Tim's house, then get in a canoe/raft and go pick it up. No one would be suspicious at all.
I've got an RV @Beej can stay in too. We're doing much better here than he is there. About two hours up the road, it's bad. But where I am it's really quite good.

Stay safe @Beej. :nailbiting:

So glued in the carbon rod to the maple sleeves. When set I need to round the open side so it will fit down into the slot. When glued in then trim flush and next route for the new truss rod.

Radiused the fretboard by hand with a sanding block for its therapeutic value. A few non Carvin touches here. First the E.I. Rosewood board and second the gold fret wire. The gold wire looks nice with the rosewood and ties in with all the other gold hardware. A little modern touch with the fretboard as I am giving it a 20" radius as opposed to the original 14". It's what I use on my own basses and as the neck is ending up real thin it should work out nicely with a flatter board.

Setting up to route the truss rod channel. I use this thick lexan piece with a channel to guide the router affixed with some double sided tape. My trusty 50 year old Craftsman router is equipped with a guide collar to fit the slot. I'll route down part way with a straight bit and switch to a round one for the last part of the channel.

How are you doing all this on the carpet and there's never any sawdust or router shavings?!?
“Witchcraft”:woot: Actually very light passes with guards in place on the router keeping most dust contained and vacuuming after each pass. The mat also helps collect dust and I shake it out outside when i’m done:thumbsup:.

I can't get over how nice that piece of rosewood is. It reminds me of the nicer pieces that were common on the older guitars.
Have you been saving it for a long time, found a supplier with really nice stuff,....or more witchcraft?
I bought from a local supplier maybe 10 years ago. But yes “witchcraft” for the non believers.
