Carvin r600 : whats wrong with bi-amp mode?

Howdy folks! Newbie here, looking for some advice about an amp i just picked up. It's a carvin r600. I am pushing a 115 cab and a 410 cab with it. Both are GK backline. The 410 is rated 400 watts, 8 ohms. The 115 doesn't say it's rating, but I assume it's the same. So here's the question: why does it sound like crap when I put it in bi-amp mode?
The low end sounds fine, but the high end tinny and ear piercing ruining the whole sound. The amp says I am running 175 watts per channel at 8 ohms. Am I under powering my speakers? or is my crossover messed up? cause it sounds great in full range mode (both speakers receiving the same signal). Anybody got anything for me? Thanks

You have two full range speakers. There's no reason for or benefit from bi-amping them, so don't.

I have the RL1000 and I bi-amped for a very long time 410+118). It didn't sound tinny to me. You have 2 power amp controls and one master. I suspect you either have the speaker cables hooked up in the wrong place or as is extremely common with these amps, you have dirty FX loop jacks which cause all kinds of problems. Could be ribbon cables too.

My advice is to ditch the 115, get a matching 410 and run the amp full range.

Speakers are hooked up properly, and i'm not using fx loop.

Bill, I guess you have a point, cause they do sound fine in full range mode. Carvin says the system is optimal for their 115 and 410 cabs. So maybe the fact that mine are GK's and maybe have different power ratings?

Make sure the 15 is in the low amp jack and the 410 is in the high amp jack, and make sure you adjust the crossover correctly, then adjust the amp 1 and 2 controls to get rid of the mud or high end sizzle, also I think there is a biamp switch on the back that you have to push in as well.

What he means here is there is a corrosion issue with these R series amps, even tho your not using them they get corroded and cause your amp to screw up. Best thing to do is take a jack plug once in a while and push it in and out a few times in the efx in and out jacks to keep the corrosion off.
