Has anyone else noticed that the SB5000 has significantly lower output when compared to most basses? ...
Have you checked to see where the preamp trim pot is set? Maybe a twist of the screwdriver will solve your problem
Hello from Germany,
would like to "twist", but....
PLEASE: Where is this "preamp trim pot"? (got my bass yesterday and it's still quite unknown for me..

Any SB owners who have a sticking stacked T/B knob? For some reason, I can't turn one without the other turning with it. Doesn't really bother me as I usually have my tone on "set and forget" but it takes two hands to make the adjustment which I don't think is right.
Still a great bass, and I cannot wait to order a second one soon.
SB's a plenty this week![]()
But a serious lack of pictures...
I'm curious if anyone here has bought a passive SB and installed a 3rd party preamp (Aguilar, etc) or even new p'ups altogether (I keep seeing an SB5000 with Nordstrand Big Singles... Ummmm...)
i considered ordering my sb5000 as passive only, but was told i could not return it if i ordered it that way.
also it was going to cost more.
???
I think that passive is an option on the web page...
You're saying that they insisted you buy a preamp, or that the base preamp is stock?
