Carvin SB5000 / SB4000 Roll Call...Part 5!

I owned an NYC Sadowsky 5, and I much prefer my SB5000. The Sadowsky was a *bit* easier to play and I liked the bridge pickup, but I always had to choose between a full thick sound or cutting through the mix. With the SB, I can have both, and the neck pickup sounds really really good all by itself.
Plus I like the looks of the SB a lot more.
~$300. I could buy a lot of stuff I don't need with $300...

Well it's taking forever to save the dough but I'm getting closer to ordering a SB5000 or 5001. I want to do the color scheme of my long departed and much beloved mid '70's Jazz (see pic). Not sure if I should do the Classic White or the Vintage Cream to get close to this finish, any opinions? (who am I kidding this is talkbass...LOL!) The pic of the SB5000 is Classic White, I think the Vintage Cream might be too yellow.

Had I seen this bass before I bought my B5, I would have saved up the cash and just got one of these. That's the nicest SB I think I've ever seen.

Sweet! To me the Classic White looks cream colored or even slightly yellow, does it in person or does it look more white? (I hope that makes sense)LOL!

I know what you mean. I recently had a really gorgeous unlined fretless Stingray, i mean a beauty. Super solid, and one of the coolest basses i'd ever owned. But.... it .. wasn't... a Jazz bass.. and it had to go away. Something about that swiss army knife of all basses that always pulls you back to it! It's happened to my several times over the years. I always go back to a jazz. And I do love my SB4000, it's getting all my attention and it more than fills the jazz shoes in my opinion, especially with the carvin alnico pickups and that amazing active circuit, the bass has got balls and grit as well as beautiful subtle qualities.
You know exactly what I'm saying then!
I had an SB5000 for a few days. The bass had cosmetic flaws and I was furious. There really isn't another option in this price range though that could compete with the Carvin.
