Carvin SB5000 / SB4000 Roll Call...Part 5!

Sorry, if I've missed it but I've been reading thru this thread and have found little mentioned about the tonal differences between the chambered body (5001) vs the standard SB5000.

I've been considering ordering a SB5000 with the chambered body since the have 50% off options right now and the pinched nerve in my shoulder thinks this sounds like a great idea!

I know Jarret had one and had some issues with it but anyone else have a chance to compare the two?

My SB5001 lacked the low end punch and focus that all of my SB5000s have had. This caused it to not sit in the mix as well as the non chambered versions. Those are defining traits of the SB series and one of the reasons I like them, which is why I returned the SB5001 and bought another SB5000.

Interesting and good to know. I was curious how the chambering would effect the low B.

I was...but then my roomate screwed me over and I had to sell it to come up with deposits for a new place. :(

A p/j SB sounds like a cool idea. With the pickguard covering the neck pickup that would be pretty straightforward to do. You thinking about a 4 or 5er?
