update on the SB4000 fretless.. It's awesome. Just did a video recording with one of the bands i play with.. tone ... simply amazing! XLR out - pre eq, so it's pretty much the sound of the bass into the board. Also, did a gig a couple nights ago at the Toad Tavern in Denver. MASSSIVE full bodied punchy, beautiful tone, through my carvin b1500 and a couple of Genz Benz Neo Cabs.

And lastly did a low vol gig last week with the amazing Arnie J. Green up in Frisco, CO. I showed up too late to set up my rig and ended up running the SB directly into a Bose "tower" PA system, with 24 2" speakers and a couple of 7" woofers i believe. The SB sounded fricking amazing!!!!

Love, love, love the SB4000 fretless.

Looking forward to hearing it.

Ok- finally a shot of me at a gig with my Spalted Maple SB4000.

(at least the bass looks great)

I think TB has moved on to the next thing and the SB world is leveling out. I was playing a club last weekend where I was worried about someone walking off with my bass and I thought what I would buy if it were stolen. I would place an order for the exact same bass. I really dig mine.

I also think this is true.

Still, it would be nice if more of Carvin's SB customers out there knew at least about this thread, and could post up.

TB is great, but it really is a VERY small and specific microcosm of the general market... not really truly representative of the whole. I wish there was a good/practical way to get that visibility, but I don't think there is one.

Anyway, onward, for as long as the thread is active, I guess.
