Finally got another SB4000. My original one I actually sold here on TalkBass to Eggman( and I think he actually converted it to a fretless) Needless to say I really missed that bass and since I previously owned one, I knew what features I liked and what I didn't. This one is basically the same with a few minor changes. I stuck with the Alder body, Black finish on body and headstock, Chrome hardware and active electronics. my only real changes are minor. i went with ebony fretboard, and black pick guard with white dots and white Carvin logo( previous one was rosewood board, tortoise pick guard and abalone dots and logo)
Although the changes were minor, I think I have customized a simple attractive bass. It is so simple and basic, I'm sure that there our plenty of owners of this exact look. I just love it. Let me know your thoughts.
That's very nice. My SB4K is active and I'm thinking of going with the Black on Alder and passive for my next build. Since I find that I'm playing it passive almost all the time.
I guess I'll take it to my repair guy to get that taken care of. I'm soooooo not impressed with Carvin's QC!
I don't 4see a second purchase.
