Case recommendations for hollow body bass

Hello hive mind,
I recently picked up a Hagstrom Viking bass and am having a hard time finding a case for it.
lower body is 17" wide, length is 47"
Anyone have any recommendations?
Gibson EB/ Epiphone Rivoli people, any thoughts?

I like how the Tabasco sauce in the background photobombed you.

You could probably find some acoustic bass case that would work. The only challenge is the depth. But it might be possible to fabricate some padded compartment to boost up the body of the guitar and also serve as a storage area for straps, cables, etc.

I would make a little adventure out of it and hunt around and explore music shops that don't have very good inventory control which may lead to excess or random guitarless cases.

A jumbo acoustic case has the 17" width, but the length is an issue. Did go to some shops to hunt, and the width checks out but the length is no bueno.

I can confirm that the cases for my Starfire II and Baritone Acoustic guitar will NOT work, The Guild is close but a little narrow in thr lower bout.

Is that Hag a shorty ?

Yes, 30.75 scale but the headstock is a bit large/ long.

Yorkville makes a no name hsc that fits the Epiphone Jack Casady bass perfectly.

I bought one from Long-McQuade for my Dillion long scale.

If I find my post about it I can link it in this tread that will show you dimensions.

Thanks- looks like the lower bout is 16" on that case though. Great lead though, going to look at their other cases. El Capitan is a contender for sure, a bit oversized but high do the trick- thanks!

A Dean HSC for their ABG basses should definitely fit if it’s 17” across the lower bout.
Instrument Alley usually has them in stock at a good price.

Personally, I went with a custom-made gigbag for my semi-hollow bass.
It fits like a glove but it's no HSC in terms of protection.

to add. my casady bass is about 46.5 . fits with a little to spare after taking out the extra pad that is removable from the bottom of the bag.

These cases are all back ordered at least 7-9 weeks right now from every retailer I've found. They do not sell direct from their site.

Sigh. Some of us actually gig regularly, and do things like recording sessions. As soon as they are available, I'll have a matching case. Until then I need something. Capisce? Also, this could be a resource for other people that are in this situation, or need a replacement for whatever reason. Hey,

I needed a bag for my custom Kinal Kompact short scale hollow body. My bass is totally different from the one he normally makes, it’s got magnetic pickups and a 30.75” scale. I wound up with a Reunion Blues Continental Voyager bag made for an ES-335 guitar and bought some extra cushions to make it fit better. You might be okay without the cushions. Check the dimensions and see if it fits, but I highly recommend that bag.
