who or what took the video ? and yeah, that would be a very dead dog in my neighborhood as well, completly un provoked from what I saw, Good kitty cat though.

As an owner of two cats, he probably wanted to claim the kill for himself, even if the dog had done all the heavy lifting.
That was in Bakersfield? Makes sense then. Cat was probably jacked up on meth and had no fear.
I saw the post interview with the little boy and cat that must have been taken a few week after the attack. It appeared the boy and cat are close buddies.
The cat is a hero in the boys and parents eyes and is now allowed up on the bed. Great story.

TV said it was the neighbour's dog. Would now be a dead dog here too.

Umm... that's BS. Most dogs don't just tear up people. The dogs I've met all want to lick you first.

I bet that cat is the head of the local cat mafia.
The cat was only able to drive the dog off because it held the advantage of what is called "The element of surprise". The dog ran before it knew what has hit it. Had the dog seen the cat first and attacked it then it might have gone badly for the cat. I think this is why the cat wisely broke off the chase and went under the car. NO way was the cat just being territorial or wanting to claim the kill. This cat knew the danger and acted in defense of one of it's humans.
