Totally. Jesus, that poor kid. He'll probably never outgrow that. He'll be afraid of dogs forever.Unprovoked mauling of a four year old? Even if there IS an owner that dog needs to be put down.

Am I wrong to believe that his supplies must be ridiculously heavy if he's truly going to be prepared for the variety of enemies (and cats) he's likely to encounter? It's that it's mental.

If the owner can't control the dog, which obviously they can't, I completely agree.Unprovoked mauling of a four year old? Even if there IS an owner that dog needs to be put down.

But the cat didn't break off the chase. After pausing, it chased the dog around the other side of the car until it was clear the dog was no longer going to be a threat. The cat was only able to drive the dog off because it held the advantage of what is called "The element of surprise". The dog ran before it knew what has hit it. Had the dog seen the cat first and attacked it then it might have gone badly for the cat. I think this is why the cat wisely broke off the chase and went under the car. NO way was the cat just being territorial or wanting to claim the kill. This cat knew the danger and acted in defense of one of it's humans.
I speak from some experience. When I was that age I was cornered by a large, angry barking shepherd dog. The experience stayed with me well into my teens. He'll be fine.
