finally got this a few weeks ago. Here's a quick evaluation:
pro's:
-small and ultra portable
-24 frets, 34" scale
-super lightweight
-comes with strap, cord and removable horn/tailpiece
-cheap: $139 at the time of this post
-adjustable neck
-adjustable nut
con's:
-hard to play while sitting down, takes a while to find a comfortable position
-difficult to play slap-style; forget about plucking the strings with your index finger - there's just no room at the end of the fretboard
-upper removable horn piece is too long - when standing up with the bass strapped-on, it feels like the bass is in the wrong position (the 12th fret is at your belly button). perhaps more thought and research should have gone into this piece.
-bridge isn't adjustable, so there are problems with intonation (so what - i'm not going to be gigging with this anyway. i only use it when i go on business trips and don't want to skip practicing my scales).
-the input jack location
-only has a master volume control
would be better if:
-there was a fold-out leg rest similar to steinberger basses
-there was more clearance between the strings and body after the 24th fret.
-the top horn was shorter
-the input jack was at the end of the body, and not on the back of the bass
-there was a fretless version
conclusion: it's better than nothing, is dirt-cheap, takes up almost no room in the trunk of my car and gives me peace of mind knowing that i'll never be bass-less (as long as i have my car).
that's my feedback for now. if i think of anything else, i'll edit this post.
It looks an inch or 2 short. Also weird is if you're going for compact why have that oversized headstock?
