Chad Michael Horne 1987-2010 - Killed by a Drunk Driver

I do agree with Dave Meissner, anger will eat at you and
destroy you. Hopefully, the counseling you were thinking about
will help with that.

There are no answers to such questions, but I pray that you
will find peace and solace in your readings and in your lives.

I am so incredibly sorry that you and your family and friends have to endure such pain. My very deepest sympathies go out to you. I cannot fathom how painful it has to be to bury a child.

Not trying to make myself the focus here whatsoever, but so many people needlessly die because of drunk drivers. In '92 my Grandparents and Uncle were struck head on by a drunk driver who was racing his buddy in a Chevy S10. Threw my Grandmother and her dog from the vehicle. My Grandmother, Uncle, and her dog died instantly. My Grandfather died during the Lifeline flight.
I was 19 when that happened, and I will never forget, without tearing up, after getting the call at 2am, my father screaming in agony that "The motherfu#%er killed my whole family!!!" after falling into my arms.
The pain is absolutely brutal, especially when they are murdered. The only difference is their choice of weapon.
The driver, like your tragic situation, and his fiance' both walked away. He served 7 years.
Please folks. Don't take your loved ones for granted. Unfortunately, many times we do, until they are no longer around to hug.

Once again, my deepest sympathies to you and your family. I wish that I could help you in some way. Feel free to PM me if there is anything I can do.

Joe

So sad to read something like this happening to an upstanding person who was working his butt off to get somewhere in life and being a contributing member of society and all that gets washed away by some loser who thought "a good time" was more important than being responsible.

I hope he rots in prison and his life is ruined. Drunk drivers make me so mad.

You have my deepest sympathies and condolences. I hope your family makes it through this ok.

I really appreciate the support. This is one of the internet's finest addresses.

The thing that everyone can do is this - take nothing and nobody for granted, ever. If you have kids, nieces, nephews, parents, friends, whatever - take the time to let them know how you feel. Be with them. Hug them. You have no idea when you won't ever be able to do that again.

Too often, we get caught up in the day to day grind, chasing the almighty and diminishing dollar, holding silly grudges, trying to acquire the latest and greatest gadget. It's all nonsense. We need to focus on what is really important.

I'm so sorry to hear of the loss you and your entire family have suffered. Unfortunately, in too many such cases the drunk drivers seem to survive. Too bad they aren't charged with murder - after all, they made the decision to drink, and to drink to excess. Ain't really an 'accident' when someone DECIDES to do something stupid that ends up with people getting hurt & killed. Worse, the folks they kill / maim are usually only guilty of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I agree that you need some grief counseling of some sort. Holding in as much anger as you're feeling - the stress it is causing you - can really badly affect your own health. Don't let that ******** hurt anyone else in your family...

I'm down in Cape May. Don't know if I can help from down here, but if you need anything, I'd be happy to try and help out.

Horrible, just horrible. Nothing we can say or do will do justice to the taking of your nephew's life. For this, I am truly saddened.

I am doing my best to keep my faith. I have turned to Christ many, many times, and I continue to read my bible daily, which is a habit I got into about 5 years ago. Right now, I'm looking for answers when I don't know what the questions are.

This is the best news. Keep strong, brother. Christ has your back.
