Chance at a used Bongo...good deal?

Used 4HH Bongo. Dark blue. Just a couple of years old and in GREAT shape. Hard shell case included. $999.00.

Is this a good deal?

About average I'd say,...i picked up a stealth HH 5 banger bongo from GC for $799 about a year or so back. Turned it for another nice bass.

Normal deal. Not spectacular. You can get a new Carvin for less, built with whatever options you want

Paid $750 for mine. But, no HSC. Great shape, too. Killer preamp in these.

Not a great deal but not outrageous. Anything at or below 850 is, to me, a good deal.

I've been playing my 4HH a lot lately. Most excellent basses, even if you could buy, say, a Carvin.

$500 less? To me that sounds like a good deal regardless of whether or not it's a 'good deal' by other peoples' standards You're actually getting a decent deal. They tend to go for around $1,100 in the classifieds. I dunno where some of these guys are getting $850 and $750 prices from because those are steals.

I bought & sold mine a couple of years ago for $900. Rarely see them for less. $999 is an OK / good deal.

Don't know if it's still there but a local music store has/had a Bongo 5'er in matte silver for about $1200. Needed a cleanup but the neck & action seemed fine.

The 5HH's pull $1100, but the 4's simply do not. Anyone asking $1000+ for a 4HH is likely going to wait a while unless it is somehow limited - like rosewood neck, roasted, or dargie.

What makes this decent is the lack of surprise - he can hold it and play it before deciding. It's not a terrible deal but it isn't a steal.

I'd try to talk the guy into like 800 or so that would be a good deal. I bought my Bongo 4 HH like 3 years ago for 720 from Ebay got a killer deal.

My Bongo is my work horse if you do Get that Bass you'll love it no doubt it's got that Music Man sound but a little more veritile then the Stingrays to me. I'm not sold on the shape though I heard BMW was the mastermind behind that
