You don't need to change anything to run those together perfectly. They have the same exact speakers in them. It makes a perfect 312 where each speaker gets the same amount of power if you just run them as they are.

You are overlooking resistance in paralell. Paralelling a 4 ohm and 8 ohm load will give you 2.66 ohms. Having the exact speakers has nothing to do with it. the resistance is not matched & it's out of balalnce and ruin the amp.

Jeezy is correct. You just need to make sure that your Amp is 2.6667 ohm capable, and each of those three 12" speaker will see the same load/power.

The amp manufacturer told me to do it that way.

If you do it your way, you'll get zero benefit from the extra speaker, and you'll probably have phasing issues.

Yeah. Just go out the 2 ohm port, and chain them together.

I did it like that for a good year. Cranked. Not one issue.

I have the same rig, Ampeg told me the same thing ("off the record"): it's not a problem.

I think the 212 will draw 2/3 of the load and the 112 1/3.

I'm still happily using my Eden cab. I keep my eye out for a deal on a 2nd hand SVT-212 that I can't refuse though.

In the meantime, I bought a late '70s curved line SVT in very clean condition for a very good price not long ago. The price was too good to pass. Now I've got that plus a very clean '89 SVT-II with GE 6550 tubes.
