I believe the world was a better, more fun place before the Internet existed.
If I could wave a magic wand and turn things back to a pre-Internet world and never allow the Internet to exist, I'd do it in a flash.
Just think... no BS social media... no cyber-bullying... and no negative results from all that poop. People simply seemed to care more about stuff before the Internet. Communication was more heartfelt and people were more "present" in their lives. It was a simpler life, yes. And dealing with the shut-in of the pandemic would've certainly been interesting without the internet... but I'm prepared to deal with that if it was possible.
What say you?
I’m a 90’s brat, which means I was part of the last generation to remember a time before internet, cell phones, and social media became an integral part of society. Heck, we didn’t even have internet in the home until I was a preteen. Remember card catalogues and needing to actually read a book for a research paper? Fortunately, I got to miss out on the joys of typing them up on a typewriter lol.
Smoking is another one - I clearly remember smoking sections in restaurants and most public spaces. My brother is a bit older than me, and he and his friends always smoked. By comparison, I hardly knew anyone my age group who smoked. Thank goodness because the smell makes me sick.
Lastly, store video rentals from Blockbuster, etc… Almost every Friday night of my childhood consisted of going to Blockbuster, checking out a couple movies, and picking up a couple pizzas from a local pizza chain. Honestly, I kind of miss the experience. And I can still smell the store.
Yes. Nothing warms the heart quite like seeing people from all over the world - different countries and different walks of life - insulting each other in the Youtube comments section. It's truly magical.Don't you think there is more communication between the people in different nations?

...EVERYONE smoked. ...a cigarette burning in an ashtray while the customer smoked ...smoking over at my station...sat in back smoking... waiters and busboys would have a dozen cigarettes smouldering inside the door to the kitchen and every table in the restaurant had an ashtray. It is completely insane to even think about that level of public indoor smoking.
Tuna noodle casserole, the scourge of western civilization.
I’m 66 and I still mow my own lawn. Been doing it all my life since I was old enough to push a mower. It’s good exercise, saves money and gets me out doors. ‘Course it exposes me to solar radiation which gives me skin cancer, and the grass aggravates my allergies. Maybe it’s not so good for me. I’m calling a lawn service right now.100% agree.
My siblings and I were helping with the yardwork as soon as we were able, and it wasn't long before we were the ones doing all the yardwork! Mom and Dad were nice enough to throw us a few coins for our efforts, though...
I am scared to search this as it sounds like a euphemism. Are the noodles…uh…made from tuna? Or is it just tuna and noodles? And if so what kind of noodles?
During a walk in our neighborhood, we had a “modest” homeowner tell us his his 6-8 inch thatch of dead grass lawn was his feeble attempt to grow alfalfa! The bar is so low that as long as your property doesn't look like a vacant lot, I'm good!

PREACH!!!Tuna Noodle Casserole is one of the finest culinary inventions. It contains tuna and noodles, mushroom soup, peas, and (depending on the recipe) potato chips and cheese.
Do not listen to slobake's lies.

My father made a habit to remind me how kind he was to tolerate my living under his roof. (Betcha that speech is seldom made in the current era either.)
