Changing the tuning to EB hurt the bass?

well all the mondays i practise with a band and i change the tunning of my bass to eb ab db gb, it will hurt the bass?, or it should be ok?

thanks a lot, i ask this because i only use my "main bass" on gigs so (my sx is always on eb) i tune down a half step of it and retune it after the gig.

this change of tunning for two hours can move the neck or something like that? ( i dont want to screw my main bass for something like this)

The moment you dropped tuning the neck moved. It will loose relief. It is either playable or it is not. If it is not, it will need to be set up for the new tuning. Usually a truss rod tweak will suffice. After that, the bass will be fine.

A neck is a balancing act between the tension of the strings and tension of the truss rod (relief). Once in balance, maximum playability is achieved. Weather temperature and humidity change that balance on a daily basis: The neck is always changing the balance even if you stay in standard tuning. Down tuning is merely another balance factor.

+1 if youre going back and forth you should be totally fine. but if you ever decide to keep that bass in that tuning then id recommend a truss rod adjustment and maybe even adjust the action and intonation if need be.
