Changing Tone during songs

So i play in a band that does a wide variety of punk type stuff, from americana/folk influence to ska-punk sublime ripoffs (and outright covers). I've been playing an ampeg big stud and a srx650 through an acoustic b200 combo, which has been solid. But i have a hard time with really getting the tone i want fast enough.

the time it bugs me most is when i go from a super bright, punchy tone to a super deep traditional reggae tone. There's just not enough time in the transition to re-eq my amp, which is what is really neccessary for the sound. Especially since i'm rolling my tone off and switching pickups anyway.

Anybody with experience have any suggestions? should i just get a graphic EQ pedal? is there one where you can set multiple presets and then just leave my amp eq flat?

Thanks!

Being in an originals/cover band, the above is part of why I switched entirely to Line 6 Bass POD XTLive 6 years ago. Too many folks to sound like and be a tone chameleon...no way with a standard amp setup.

At the touch of a pedal, you can change amps & EQ & "cabinets" & effects and then instantly go back or to another.

I have a NOVA System in front of my amp and with programmable EQ for each preset, it is easy to sculpt you tone for on the fly changes, I do it every night in fact. Of course this means you have a big multi effects unit on the floor, but I'm used to aging much larger pedalboards at my feet than the NOVA. as the nova isn't really geared towards bass, I'm sure you can find something that may suit your needs a little bett, but don't discount a multi effects unit. They have come a long long long long long way.

Mucho respect for a very cool bass. Having an EQ or programmable EQ is a great boon for any tone switching bassist.
Aside from the SA EQ mentioned most multi efx have an EQ section some more flexible than others. The old Digi BP8 has a 4 band semi parametric EQ that is quite nice and Zoom B2/b2.1u offers a 6 band EQ or 2 band parametric that is very flexible.

I just got me a "Bass Mid Control" pedal, the frequency control on this will go low enough for the effect you wish to achieve, I think. Press the pedal, roll off tone on your bass, you're set. (Disclaimer: I only tried it in the store, no chance of plugging it in before March...)
