But how does a signature bass line work really? Do they pay you anything (based on sales)? Are you on a contract to endorse their product? Did he have any design inputs on the design details (good call on having more than one knob). I'm sure he can make any bass sound good on a demo. But I dunno.... if I had enough of a reputation (or following) that I'd warrant my own bass. Would "that" be it? I kinda doubt it. Now if its just another income source for him - congrats on your new job.

If I told you who I was or had a YouTube Channel like everyone else , I guess you would ask me why I don't have some company tempting you to buy the bass that I play......well here it goes , I'm--------------and I play Fender Jazz Basses . That was an unpaid endorsement .......that's the last free thing you get from me .

I responded to one of these a while back, and whilst I gave specs then, I'm not interested in a sig bass, but was really giving a custom spec that I'd prefer. I'd be far, far more interested in a good cheap bass that encouraged more new players same as it was when I was first interested in playing in the 70s.

In some of his vids I could see how some people could feel that way, but many are actually interesting and I've learned from them. I can think of another major YT instructional channel that I find far more annoying and obnoxious than Charles, and with worse chops.

Schecter hasn't lasted 50 years by being unethical. They sell good basses at good prices, end of story.

Since when is something wrong with not knowing every YOUTUBE bass player?

I don't know every touring bass player either ?

I have a Sandberg Ida Nielsen and a lot of people ask me " who" ? I don't get offended by it.

It's like nike sponsoring some dude on YouTube who can make cool videos of throwing footballs, instead of sponsoring actual NFL players.
