Charles Meeks killin' it on the Stingray in '79.

I know Chuck Mangione can be a bit polarizing as his later career was mostly pop jazz, but check out Charles Meeks absolutely killing it on his Stingray on "Feels So Good". I'm not a pop jazz fan, but I figured it out and it is really a fun one.

Note his strap looped across the lower bout of his bass. I do the same thing playing my Thunderbird to pull the bass into my body to stabilize it and in the case of my T-bird prevent neck-dive.

What a nice clean sweet tone. Love it. Sounds fantastic! I had a Fender Bassman with 215 cab just like this back in the late 70s to early 80s. . Awesome amp. Never had to turn up over 1/2 volume. Even on out door gigs.
