You'll be pleased to know that I am all out of smart comments. I've done as many as this thread deserves (other opinions may vary).
But I will leave you with a valid comment.
Never buy ANYTHING based on it's resale value (only exception may be a house).
If you buy anything that depreciates with age (most things do) like cars, boats, guitars, etc...EXPECT them to depreciate CONSIDERABLY.
Basses should be bought to be be played and loved. Your value comes out of these things with their use...
If you want to get $500 out of a $500 bass (DON'T buy the bass, just keep the money)
If you want to get $50K out of a $50K car (DON'T buy the car, just keep the money)
