CHEAP BASSES SUCK!!!!

Disagree....

Not to go all Econ 101, but the value of a bass in the secondary market is based on what one is willing to pay for it.

Nothing imaginary about supply and demand.

Value of a used bass is based on something so far from concrete it's hilarious. My point isn't that value is a meaningless concept, my point is more along the lines of "Used basses have no intrinsic value." It's all based on the whim of the market, the economy, etc. You can put a price tag of $10,000 on an SX bass. Does that make it worth $10,000? What if someone is stupid rich, has not done an ounce of homework, has no idea what a bass even is, but likes the color of the SX he sees with that price tag on it, buys it as "art" and puts it on his wall at home... does that make its value $10,000?
