Cheap Maple P-Bass

Maybe one of these. I was looking for something cheap myself,
and this fit the bill!

Thats some dark looking maple. But in all seriousness SX is probably your best bet. You'll just have to wait until they get some in, or someone sells one used on here or ebay.

I've never owned a Lakland bass but if I were looking for a P bass & had a budget up to a grand, I would definately try one out.

If you want it to say fender on it you can go with MIM or MIJ & stay well within your budget. Especially if you go "preowned"

The 50's P is a great bass if you don't mind a P size neck. Mine has a fat alder grunt with the nice maple snap. I can't put it down. The '61J and Sadowsky have not been getting much attention since the 50's P came in. I never really understood the P bass magic. I had two basses with a P pup cycle thru here before the 50's P but now I think I get it.
