Answer above

I got a peavey 410tvx which is only £275 (uk) so quite cheap, built like a brick and you can get any sound out of it, then i just found a used ashdown little giant head off ebay. You will struggle to find a CHEAP rig thats any good, unless someone is giving you a good deal or you are lucky. any used rig of decency will set you back about £500

IMO - I would say to go with:

An amp of your choosing that gives 300-500 watts

A 4X10, or 2X15, or 2X12 cab of your choosing.

Already mentioned above was the GK Backline, and the Peavey 410tvx - both suitable pieces of equipment.

To get the best bang for your buck, I would try buying used either from Craigslist or from the TB classified section. Plenty of great gear available from Peavey, GK, Hartke, Carvin, etc.

Try out all you can at a local music shop, or make the effort to get out to some local shows in your area and see/listen to what others in your genre are playing to get a starting point.

In the end, only you can choose with your ears what sounds good to you.
