Cheap PA

I found a decently priced Peavey XRD 680 Plus powered mixer. Does anybody think it seems ok or any information on it like tge wattage and what kind of speaker i should look into? Thanks again for all of the help

Would i be ablr to use the Phonic Powerpod 820 / S710 PA Package? it's only 200watts and a little out of my price range but i think i could do it and next time i get paid i could buy some powered speakers separately

It's actually 2 100w @4ohm amps. Depending on your band's volume, you'd have to crank that thing. I could see using that for an acoustic act. YMMV.

Seriously - I would think you might want to go check out some eqpt. and compare how it actually functions to what you actually need/want. If you could hold off a little while and save to get what you really need/want and not have to put up with crap that you will have to try to re-sell to buy better soon, it would be really helpful. You are near Milwaukee I think? There has GOT to be someone with new/used epqt you can check out and do a real honest to god comparison instead of guessing.

Also - consider the possibility of downsizing some of your rehearsal eqpt to bring down over all volume if you need to. If ALL that eqpt is at max, you will struggle. Just my thoughts of the moment, from a guy that has bought - bought - re-bought and bought some more, to sell to buy more and probably still doing it too!!!

Hi guys im in a four piece band. (two guitars, bass and drums) and we need a loud enough PA system to hear over 3x15 bass 2x12 guitar and another 4x12 guitar amp and a full drum set. Anything $200 or less doenst need to sound amazing and we would like at least two channels. Im thinking 200 watts-ish let me know if you have any sugestions! We are ok with used equipment!
You are moving seriouis amounts of air with the equipment you have there. Ted Nugent would be proud. Cut some of your back line power, then you'll need less force for vocals.
Seriously, you must be too loud there. I hope you all wear ear protection.

Keep in mind that the half stack never goes past 3 usually around 2. our drummer strugles to be heard over 3. The bass amps are never turned up enough to sound overdriven. And the other guitar amp never goes near 5. Truly i think just about any PA system would be better that the two guitar combo amps that we use. And those together can almost be heard and the watts added are less than 75.

Bought this beauty...
