Cheapest bass you just LOVE

Quite fond of these...a 95 P Lyte with EMG PJ's (got a little over $500 into it, my main player, but it had QP's in at the time of this pic), and a 67 or 68 Realistic violin bass ($320 after getting the pickups worked on).

But this is the cheapest bass that I love...a 2009 Danelectro Dead-On Longhorn ($190 new but it was a Christmas present from my wife so it didn't cost me anything

Got a Harmony Jazz Copy with a soft case for $100.

That would have been my SX Ursa 1 (sold for $50 to a friend who expressed an interest in becoming a bassist .)
This one:
Loved everything about it: Great tone, beautifully done sunburst finish, played beautifully. I even liked the mis-matched assymetrical 3-piece body, gave it a lot of character and individuality.
Cost me $109 plus $10 for the black pickguard new.

About 2 months ago I picked up a Jay Turser JTB-40 mini p-bass for 50 bucks to keep around as a party and practice bass.
As it turned out, I love this little bass. It sits on it's stand and gets more play than any other bass I have. It is tiny and weighs about 4 lbs but is a full 30 inch scale so it is easy to switch back and forth to my other shorties. It's also easy to transport as a backup.
Oh, and it actually sounds and plays great!

Funny story behind it...the clerk made the mistake of telling me that they just ran their inventory and were not interested in buying more instruments, because they were 30 units overstocked. Well, I'd been keeping in an eye on this bass for a couple weeks, and decided that I would try to haggle with them and it worked. I helped them with their overstock issue and I got a great deal on a great bass. LOL

Squier Deluxe Active Jazz V in white, completely customized (not cheap anymore).
And a Kawai KRB-105... MIJ, graphite neck, EMGs. It sounds dead-on to a Steinberger and was $300. I don't play it much because it's a 4 string, but I can't sell it because it sounds like a million bux!

Those Fury p'ups have got to be some of the nicest-sounding ones I've ever heard. I put a set in my Affinity P and they really opened the sound up incredibly!
The voice and the feel are a perfect match for each other.
BTW: that's my cheapest bass - it came in a Squier Player Pack in 2008 and although it was closeted for a few years, once I put ROTO flats on it, it really came to life.
I picked up an Aria Pro II CSB-300 in a pawn shop for $100 a few years back. Plays and sounds great!
My Squier Bronco with a Gretsch 2202 TV Jones-designed pickup. The neck is lovely with a nice satin finish, the bass is solid and balances well, it's light, and it's a pleasure to play. People complain that the electronics are cheap but I haven't touched them other than the pickup. Labella Deep Talkin flats are perfect for it. This is one of my go-to basses, even with a 1963 P and other basses sitting next to it.
Don't let ANYONE tell you Bronco basses are crap. They're a very nice package and with the pickup of your choice, they're a serious tool.

my RBX 270 Yamaha fret-less, the neck and fingerboard are smooth as silk, plays like a dream , and don't think I have had to do anything with the setup since I got it , it also probably stays in tune better than anything else I own as well. Traded a ratty Epi PJ copy for it
Just got a Jay Turser MM clone for a "C" note. It's a live one, pickup is crappy but the neck is wonderful. 
Ventura EB-0 copy (70's era MIJ). $150 on eBay. Contrary to the tone of the pickups on the actual Gibsons of the time, this little mudbucker has a full-range tone. I've been rolling the treble off at shows!
