Check out this guy's "pedalboard"

In Diarrhea freight train theres this godawful hissing noise, I think thats him looping through about half of those pedals...

That is...assuming he has bought a looper....I didn't check the pedals that closely...

And heres a quote from that thread:
The vast majority are Peavey cables. There are also a few Monster cables in there and a Roland 13 pin cable for the synth. I generally don't spend too much on cables. A lot of cheapo GC cables are in that heap.

I think the majority of attitdues in this thread are pretty off. It's his money - he can spend it on what he wants. He's obviously happy with it - why bash him?

Not cool.

Collecting pedals and having a lot of effects to choose from is one thing...but chaining everything together to the detriment of tone and common sense is something different...and I think that is everyone's argument.

I would hate to see him on a gig with that set up!!! If he ever gets called for one.
Load in for him would have to be like at 2:30P for a 9:00P gig!
Thats worse than Doug Wimbish's pedal board.

Actually I wonder if there was any thought given to the placment of the pedals in his "chain"

The dude needs a setup like JMJ...

Each pedal is in its own bypass loop - no tone suck. The great amps at the end of the chain don't hurt either.

Then again, JMJ probably has a bit more disposable income.

You're absolutly right, his pedal collection is no reason to bash him.

His music, though, should make him eligeble for mocking, at the least.

Oh gosh, you are right. That is some bad stuff.

And you know what? I was hoping for some cool tone from his guitar... But it sounds quite normal.

I also think that we shouldn't bash this guy. Laugh, yes, but not bash.

Hah. I wonder how strange of a noise (and I mean NOISE and not music) it would make if he played with each and every pedal on. Crazy.
-I sure as hell wouldn't know what it would be like to play with every effect turned on if i were him, as i wouldn't want to waste 20 minutes of my life turning them all on!

-It Should be called a pedal room!
-I think he should buy a custom loop pedal. One loop per every effect without true bypass!(which is most of them!)
-I wouldn't like to pay his electricity bill!!!!

Also, from this photo we can tell:
-He has lately robbed a music store!
-He has no girlfriend
-He is definatly a HE!
-He has a 4X4 truck(so he could fit every pedal in, when they were stolen)
-He's on drugs!
-He probably isn't in a band!

I don't think most of this is malicious... maybe some attitudes come up, but the guy posted it, on talkbass. If you're looking for a more laid-back site, there's Bassnutz, Uglybassplayer, etc...

This site does tend toward a more serious angle (go visit the DB forums!). Anyway when you post something before your peers, it gets a peer review. It's like any other culture- and some of us scrap to pull together what we play through, so what might appear as overtly frivolous might get a panning.

No matter what you do though, you can't take everythng seriously!
