Imo, hes not like sheehan. Yeah, they play with 3 fingers and they play very fast...but thats where the similarity ends.
Sheehan doesnt wank for most of the songs he plays in, infact he holds down the groove traditionally for the most part. He does go really really during his 'showcase' though... which is different from what he plays in a full band context.
If I have to compare the guy in the video to anyone, it would be john myung
Realy really like the tapping chorded parts. The other stuff just doesn't sound very musical to me. Sounds like someone gave Geddy Lee a caffiene pill. Speed scales just are boring to me.
Be honest guys, who wouldn't want to have the skill set that this guy has? I can't play anywhere near as well as him! You don't have to like the music to appreciate the skill do you?

I don't like that kind of music or play that kind of music. So no. I don't want that skill set.

I lean towards the Jamerson or Bernard Edwards school myself, but I have an appreciation for others that can do what I cannot, regardless of style.
The slap part sounded pretty good. Very good speed. May not be everyone's cup of tea, but very skilled nonetheless. What bass was he playing? Crazy finish.
i prefer the more melodic tapping he does (reminds me of JAE on life after love and some others) but i do love a little J metal
