i've always been really impressed with the ATKs i've tried out in the shops...i did, though, go for [another budget brand, of oft-maligned reputation and variable QC] in a back-to-back test with an ATK.

...those soundclips make me want an ATK all over again. nertz.

OMG! What a great toy, I wish more bass builders did this kind of thing.

I was very surprised at how much the single coil tones sound like normal dual coil humbuckers. I also heard a bit of a Wal sound in some of those clips. Oh well, add another bass to the GAS list

Sounds the same, so I'd say pick it up! Great basses!

There are some ATK400's from Europe floating around which are HS as well. Dunno if there are any 5-strings but I'm constantly on the lookout for a 4-banger.

There are ATK 405's out there - there was one in the u-box at ishibashi a couple of months ago - it was trans blue and very sexy! Keep an eye out...

is it me, or have they got the parallel humbucker and trad s/c clips the wrong way round-

eg. "Trad" sounds like a stingray
"Attack" sounds like a Rick bridge pickup

-and it should be the other way round?
