I would prefer that you don't show up naked...

I've been to a few. Lots of fun... Lots of new people to meet. Lots of basses to admire. Lots of new Laklands to drool over. A really nice cross-section of bassists and styles.

Sometimes there is a band scheduled to play. Sometimes a clinic. Sometimes females actually attend too ;)

They often have folks doing set ups for a very good price.

You'll see/hear people play that will make you question why you bother at all...then you'll get over it and be happy that you're part of such an interesting and talented community.

Bill Dickens has shown up to a couple. Bill Clements has driven over from Michigan to attend.

To summarize...you don't want to miss it!

Thank you! I will definitely be there!

I'm totally there dudes. Last time I went to a GTG at the Lakland factory, I got to play a lot of cool basses through a ton of cool rigs, and meet a bunch of really great people. I might bring my numero uno bass for a setup.

Perfect summary! Let me also add that folks who have not been to GTGs before shouldn't hesitate to sit down and try out basses--no one judges other people's chops (luckily for me!). And TBers are just cool and generous people in general. I've been to a bunch of GTGs, Lakland-related and otherwise, and never failed to have a great time. Don't miss out!

I need to clear the air abit. We will be conveining at the former Laklin facility. The operations have moved to a new location since the company changed hands. As it stands currently, there are no reps from Lakland slated to appear.

Ahhh. So no plek machine or pro setups then? I'm still going regardless.

Correct. I sent an email to Leo Lopez asking if he plans on attending

Dang....I won't be able to make this! My day job has me going to Zurich, Switzerland. :crying:

As much fun as the GTGs are, I'd rather go to Zurich any day! Beautiful city!!!

I went in the summer, had to visit their Lake Zurich (since I live near our Lake Zurich). Was walking along the shore line when some young women came out of the water and thought nothing of removing their bikini tops to dry off. That's not something I've ever seen at home!!!

Have fun!!!

Thanks BillyB! I agree Zurich is a beautiful city, always enjoy going there. I get to go there on business about 4-5 times a year, so, it's just become a long commute to work. In this situation I would prefer the GTG....oh well.

The trips do help with the airline status! :D
