Lakland under new ownership did indeed move to a new location.

This GTG is at the old Lakland location.

The address to the old Lakland factory is at the early part of this thread.

At first, I was thinking of the Red Line Clybourn stop, which would be perfectly fine (but is a good bit further away). I'm trying to picture the area from the Metra stop to the Lakin & Sons building. Very industrial, but I don't think it would be dangerous in the middle of the day, at least.

Oh please, Chicago is harmless. I've walked from the southside to the north side after 1am a few times. Nothing ever happened. And when I was a bouncer, I only threw like 3 people through windows...that's about it.

Besides, I doubt any attacker is a sprinter...so just put on some nice running shoes.

Fun times today and got to hear all sorts of cabinets that I've been wanting to.

I thought the nEARful 15/6/1 sounded incredible! The Thunderchildren were impressive too, but my ears like the mids on the nEARful.

I think David Nordchow's DNA gear sounded great too. So much love for the cabinets mentioned above that I kind of felt bad for David until a very skilled Lakland player gave David's gear a try...

Thanks to all who brought instruments/amps/cabinets for everyone to try out!

Yeah... for a good old rock sound, I would choose a nEarful/fEarful cab... Im very happy with my TC+shuttle for jazz and multi-instrumental use though. The Thunderchild sounds smoother and the nEarful definitely has more mids to it (and not in a bad kind of way).

I had fun listening to the different cabs, it was a bit hard to tell in that room though. Very wide open and boomy. Better than nothin!

More pics coming here shortly, as I have yet to post mine up. I really want to thank those that came out, and send a "maybe next time" to those that didn't. I say we do it again in the not to distant future. I say we do it quarterly....AND BIGGER!!!
