- I am a hobbyist making stone picks that I sell but mostly give away. They made me do this anyways.
The pickups appear to be slightly angled, the neck pup, especially. Is that the camera's fault? I don't suppose it makes any difference to the sound if it is. Just wonder if my eyes are playing a trick on me.

I agree (FWIW, the bass in the picture on the seller's site looked exactly like yours, pre modifications of course). Besides the phallic shaped pickguard and set back bridge, the width of the body appears disproportionately thinner on mine, making the headstock look huge in comparison...

Yes, it is not an illusion, the pickups are ever so slightly angled in towards each other. I sincerely doubt it was intentional
In total, $144 US$. The bass was originally listed at $67 with free shipping, and I had a $3 coupon, so I purchased it for $64. The seller got back to me within a day to say the price was a mistake and wanted another $100. After some back and forth, we settled on an additional $80. All the sellers on DHGate have since raised the price on this bass to between $178 and $228 (free S&H), depending on the seller. AliExpress has a few sellers that have it listed at $149 with free shipping.
Note that the bass you receive may not look exactly like it does in the picture, as you can see was the case with mine.

It might not be the case here- but ive seen this happen before: different dealers on aliexpress/dhgate etc copy each others stock photo. When they get an order they make a product that looks like the item, hence the long delivery/ fake trackingnumbers. Sometimes they just post a stock photo from Gibson/Fender etc and the prosess is the same.

That wouldn't surprise me one bit. There were a total of 28 messages back and forth between myself and the seller, and a few of the responses were well, let's just say "interesting". Differences in design and minor flaws aside, I'm still pretty happy with the bass overall. The fit/finish and playability is on par with the Squier and SX basses I've owned in the past.

They sell strings for extended range guitars, with diameters up to 0.182, with lengths geared to ERGs with ends tapered to fit guitar tuners.

You can order individual strings to make your own sets, just make sure the larger string gauges have an "S" (for short) as part of the string gauge. You'll see that for the gauges starting at 0.102 and up.
I ordered a set of .106S, .079, .059 and .045 for a little under $20 with shipping.
Judging by the generous taper at the ends, I'm pretty sure these should fit any sub-scale bass without any issues.

Just cant stop tinkering with this one. I laminated a top layer of tort to the original white three-ply - turned out pretty cool!
Love it! I would love to do this on mine. A few questions...
- Where do you get the tort laminate?
- Was it difficult?
- How did you do it/ what was the process of cutting it to fit perfectly and applying it?

i used sheets of one ply tort for acoustic guitars. Very thin material. Rough cut with scissors and stick it on - it comes with adhesive on the back. Then just sand, scrape or cut the edges with sandpaper / x-acto knife. Material can be found on eBay/aliexpress etc.
