Chorus pedal for use with octaver

Hey,

I'm looking for a chorus pedal, mainly to use it with an octaver (3leaf Octabvre Mini). Looking for some synth like tones.

Do you guys think that a chorus pedal with some kind of low filter is necessary so that the chorus + octaver doesn't get too muddy?

Anyone using a Boss CE-2W with an octaver?

I just got the Walrus Audio Fundamental Chorus which has a clean blend and really like it. I'm not a chorus snob. I'm using this with an Octabvre as well.

I had a CE-2w with an Octabvre Mini a while ago and quite liked it, especially in CE-1 mode. I think the Jam Bass Waterfall is also a great shout.

A good choice is the CEB-3, because it can be made to completely ignore the low frequencies if you want, leaving the octave down un-chorused.

I’ve used Julia after my Octabvre and after a few different octave-fuzz effects. Great.

I just picked up the CE-2W and it sounds great with my OC-5. The chorus can be super subtle and very musical.

If you want to hear it in action Rocco uses the CE-2W throughout this set but specifically on Tioga Pass and Rust.

I do this with my OC-3 and the HX One, and I have multiple different chorus voicings that I'll use depending on my mood. I have everything from chorus to vibrato to dimensions. The One really expanded my effect stacking capabilities and it's not that much more expensive than a boutique chorus pedal.

Octave and chorus, gotta love it. Break out the fretless and do a little "Sledgehammer."

There are probably lots of good options. I haven't tried very many of them because once I tried the Julia, I didn't feel the need to keep looking.

Agreed on this. The Polytope has a nice high-end sheen that IMO makes it great for stacking with other effects on bass without getting muddy.

The EHX Bass Clone has a cross over switch to leave your lows alone. Seems to work for me.

^^^^THIS^^^^ I currently own the Anadime, a JAM, sold the Walrus just because, and the Polytope. The Polytope is nonpareil; the Anadime and Jam are very similar, and the Walrus can be had for ~ $145 here. My preference in order would be the Polytope, the Anadime, the Jam, then the Walrus, and i used them after the octave.

I over looked the Boss for a long time while trying others that came and went, only to discover that I actually liked the Boss CEB-3 the most.

Yup, it's a solid chorus pedal overall too. Used one for years until I got my Walrus Audio Julia.

Any of the boss chrous pedals work great. I have the CE-2W myself for my fretless bass, and the combo of OC-2 and CE-2W sounds really nice.
