Chorus pedals for Bass

I liked the brown one more than the blue one

They did a brown CE-2?

I thought all of the BOSS chorus pedals were a shade of light blue. I know the OC-2 was brown. But I’ve never seen a brown chorus. BOSS color codes their pedals last I heard. The only exceptions are their drive/dirt boxes which seem to have widely varying colors, although the ODs seemed to have finally settled on yellow.

Well I have got good news for you. Boss now make a special reissue of the CE-2 called the CE-2w. It's not particularly cheap, but used ones are relatively affordable and in my opinion it's the best sounding chorus pedal currently in production. It's special because it also contains the old Boss CE-1 Chorus Ensemble in addition to the CE-2 that you're familiar with. I have one and let me tell you it's a joy to play. The CE-1 mode is especially great for bass and worth the price of the pedal on its own.

Well, you just saved me writing up a post. What he said. The CE-2w is the bomb.

The brown one is the old CE-2b. IMO it’s too subtle, but that’s just my opinion.

I've had the Maxon CS-9. Nice classic chorus sounds - very similar to the CE-2 the OP posted. They are easy to find used at very reasonable prices.
A little too 80s for my taste though.

I use a Sea Machine from EQD. It can do the classic chorus sound thing, but a lot more too. It's fun to play with and makes a nice chorus sound. I had a V1 way back, and really liked it, sold it, and now have the V3 - I think I like the V1 better, but still good.

The Keeley Seafoam+ Chorus is very nice. There is a dip switch just for bass guitar that keeps the low end solid. Plus, has 3 modes to choose from and a Mix to make it as wet or dry as you like!

Take the easy route and get a boss ceb-3. Had mine for 18 years, no complaints!

Easy to find, so easy to test out. Ignoring the obvious would be foolish. If you can back-to-back test with an mxr, so much the better. Those are the standards.
