Chorus pedals for Bass

#1 without breaking the bank for me is the boss bass chorus (both the blue and brown) is the nicest i've ever experienced, and i've tried many chorus pedals.

#2 without breaking the bank is the mooer ensemble queen. practically a clone of the blue boss bass chorus with smaller real estate

I skimmed and think I saw this one briefly mentioned on the first page...

Crossover (but sounds great on both settings), smaller enclosure than you can tell by seeing it by itself, and about 70USD brand spanking new. Edit: also is true bypass if that sways you one way or another.

I did a lot of research and this one impresses me the most. You can get them used for about $70. The key is the low filter cut knob. This allows you to pick the frequency where the chorus stops taking affect, allowing the lows to stay more pure while still providing chorus to the high notes. It also gives you the option of stereo output (nice to have, though I don't use it, I know others that do). If you lower the rate and increase the depth you can get a nice chorus effect that isn't overpowering allowing you to use it much more frequently. It does not cut out the low end like other pedals. You won't be disappointed if you end up with tis one.

I'm loving the CE-2w. It's one of those pedals with no bad sounds.

And the thread comes full circle. OP says he likes the CE-2, but they aren't made anymore and vintage ones are going for ridiculous prices. For that exact reason, Boss started the Waza Craft line, and now we have the CE-2W. You aren't going to get any closer to the original, and in fact the Waza pedals can be considered better than the originals in many respects (lower noise floor, switchable custom mode).

The EHX Mod 11 is what I use. The volume knob is what makes it ideal for live use—modulation pedals don’t have that usually. And bass chorus really stands out when it has just a slight volume boost, otherwise it can get muddy or lost in a mix. No low end loss, and I can fool around with other modulation types if I feel like changing it up. Very fun and useful. Has a huge amount of headroom in the volume and can even just be used as a clean boost if needed.

I believe it has been discontinued fairly recently, but the cheap budget Valeton Aquaflow Vintage Chorus is a great little affordable all analog Boss CE-1 clone, in a much smaller housing and compared to the original's limited combined Depth/Rate control the Valeton clone got both a Depth, Rate, Tone and Mix control.

What I use myself.

I have 2 pedalboards. There's a TC Corona chorus on each board - one mini, one regular. Both of them work great - you gotta try a bunch of the Toneprints to find one that you like - it's pretty much the same as having a couple dozen chorus pedals to pick from - yes, it takes a bit of time to try a bunch of those variations but once you find one that you like, you're good from there on it. I use an Andy Summer 'walking on the moon" tone print - that one actually adds a bit of low end to the signal, which I like.

Have used a Boss CEB-3 in the past, but found it too subtle - but great if you only want some slight chorus on higher notes.
Chasing the Peter Hook chorus tone so currently using a EHX Clone Theory Re-issue - very happy with it, although you lose some low end if playing lower down the neck (not a problem playing Hooky riffs :))
I also have this on my guitar board and sounds nice on bass too, all analogue, not too extreme, v sturdy and budget price (you won't forget the settings on this one!)

Supposed to be a nod to the old Roland Dimension C or D (not sure which one) that was popular in the 80s, that Boss has now reissued as the Boss DC-2W Dimension C, would love to try one to compare....anyone tried the Boss one on bass yet?
