Chris Squire Bass Build Challenge

I have collected Electra MPC basses and guitars for decades....great stuff with excellent level of craftsmanship.
Being a huge Yes and Chris Squire fan, I decided a few weeks ago upon his passing that I would sacrifice one of my X620 Basses to reproduce Chris' modified MPC bass. Oddly, when he described his, he said the mods were done by Alvarez, to which I believe he misspoke and the mods were probably done at Matsumoku whom we all know made basses that bore MANY different brand names. He also spoke in this interview as if the modular effects idea never went to production, but we know that it did almost two decades earlier for a number of years. Well, my project is all painted up and ready for the brass shop to reproduce the four brass pieces, namely pickguard, effects door and front and back rotary switch access covers. More pics as completion level increases!

Very cool. I'd love to have even one of those, much less be able to sacrifice one. I think that what CS meant when said that it never went into production was that particular model with two vol and two tone controls in addition to the two knobs for the effects. This is one is on my todo list, though I'll have to start from lumber and get creative on the electronics and such.
