Chrome and Win10 - alerts and OP posts not showing on hover

Hey,
I just got a new laptop running latest Win10 OS, and I use Chrome for my browser.
In the past when I put my cursor over a Thread, the Original Post would appear without me having to click it.
Same with Alerts, if I put my cursor over the Alert heading, my alerts would drop down.

I have Javascript turned on, and I have messed with Hardware rendering in the Chrome about://flags area, but I can't get this handy feature to run.

any ideas on how to fix this ?

so, no one has any ideas on this issue ? dang.
I'm not really sure how to refer to this effect .. it happens in 3 different cases:
For Threads, placing the mouse cursor over a thread makes the initial post pop up in a bubble. Helps me decide if I want to actually dive into the thread.
For Alerts, if I place my mouse cursor over the Alerts text, active alerts drop down for me to see without needing to click
For Forum, once I click on the Forum tab, when I place the mouse cursor over it (Forum tab) all if the Forum options drop down for me to choose from

This is a super handy function that I am really missing. It works in Chrome on a Macbook pro, as well as in Chrome on an older HP laptop with Win 10.
No idea what is keeping it from happening on the new Dell XPS.

anyone ?

I'm sorry I don't have any idea what might be preventing the javascript popups from working... Have you tried other browsers on the XPS?

yes, I tried Edge, same result. I can give Firefox a try today as well just to see if its browser related. It's too bad, the popups are very useful.

I think it might. In Chrome, go to chrome://flags/ and find "Enable Touch Events". It'll probably be set to Automatic. Try switching it to "Deactivated" or "Disable". The hover effects of the forum are meant to be disabled on touch devices (there's no way to "hover" with your finger), and it seems sometimes Chrome thinks you're in touchscreen mode when you're not...

great catch, this is my first touch enabled laptop (not a feature that I was seeking, but came with the config I wanted). I'll give that a try this morning, and report back. Thanks much

Paul, thanks for the guidance on this. Touch Events was set on Automatic. I disabled it, and I still don't get the drop downs working on Chrome.
I will load Firefox later today when I get a min to futz around with it some more, and will report my results.

cool for you. any idea why they would not work for my config ? This worked fine for me on my old laptop, as well as my work provided Macbook.
I am stumped as to why it would not work on the new machine.
too bad too, because its a very handy feature that I have got used to having.

still looking for a solution here folks .....

Did you try it with FireFox?
