Cigars!

I love Cigars... Especially when playing poker... Or playing golf... I also like smoking jays... Especially when playing poker, or playing golf, or playing bass, or before going surfing, or after going surfing, or before playing a gig, or after playing a gig, or at a good show, or after a good show, or before a burrito, or after a good burrito, or before a long road trip, or while on a road trip, when a good friend comes over, or when a new friend comes over, or before watching a good movie, or after watching a good movie, or before diving, or after diving, or while snowboarding, skiing, or after karate, or before bodysurfing the wedge, or before snorkelling , or after the wedge, or after snorkelling, or before sex, or after sex, or while getting a humdinger from the wifey, or.... what are we talking about again...

Recently I smoked my first Cuban... Now I know why I like Cigars. But I also like jays too...

I love cigars!!! Yes, im only 17, but I do know a good cigar when I smoke it. I smoke them occasionally and my favorite is when im drinking.

I recently just brought home 4 Cuban cigars from Aruba. 2 Cohiba's, 1 Montecristo, and my personal favorite... 1 Romeo y Juliet. When im in the U.S., I enjoy Punch cigars aswell as Montecristo's. When I feel like having a cigar and don't feel like spending $10+, il go and buy some Swisher Sweets. :D

I love a good Cuban Cohiba every once in a while. My co-workers are back and forth to mexico all the time so getting Cubans is not a problem. For my every day smoke though - Swisher Sweets Wood tips, just because I want to enjoy having a lip below my mustache and having a whole tongue is kinda nice as well.

Yes, they're cheap but they have a good flavor and that's the important thing.

Those are insanely good. As good as any Cubans I've had (and I've had quite a few). Too bad they're so darn expensive.

I have about 1-2 cigars a week when it's warm outside. I used to smoke them regularly, until the craze hit and my favorite brands became scarce and overpriced. Don't smoke all that much any more.

Sure, not smoking is healthier than smoking. But I can easily go several weeks without smoking a cigar, and the people I know who smoke cigarettes can't go four hours without lighting one up, so I think it's pretty clear which one is a greater threat to your health.

Right now-my favorites are: Baccarats in the rothchild (50 ring 5 inch length) size, and for quicker smokes-CAO Italias i think are the ones i'm smoking in the piccolo size.

I'm still pretty new to cigar smoking-i've been doing it for about 6 months now, and only since the first of the year have i moved away from the kind you buy at 7-11/grocery stores.

The local shop that i go to is Iwan Ries. Link Removed I bought their "Dog walker sampler" which was around $30 w/taxes and had 10 or so small smokes. I enjoyed that quite a bit. Nice variety. I'll probably end up buying another one of their samplers. I like being able to go to the shop and say "i like ______, can you recommend me something similar?" The guys have always been helpful.

Anyone here ever tried an Ashton? I bought a few for my 18th for about $8 a piece. Since those are the only real "cigars" I've tried (Besides Black and Milds) I don't have much of an opinion.

If I remember correctly, the only two cigars I've ever smoked were both Ashtons, the first a Corona-sized one and the second was slightly shorter but fatter. I don't remember the name, however.


BTW, The new Cream Black and Milds are fantastic!! Anyone tried those?

Ashtons are another great brand. I don't like flavored cigars. I'll smoke a pipe with a nice cavendish instead.

LISTEN TO THIS MAN!!!!!! the maco cigars he speaks of are pure heaven!!! eric sent me and my buddy mike 4 of the best sticks i have ever had. i am not an expert on cigars but my tastes run a little expensive. i greatly enjoy launica #400 as just an everyday smoke[ i dont smoke everyday but.......] and i also really enjoy the padron anniversary if i'm feeling all high and mighty. NOTE: the key, in my opinion to really enjoying good cigars and finding ones that you really like, GET A GOOD TOBACONNIST. find someone who will walk you through the process and he/she will turn you on to some wonderful sticks. i would suggest calling my friend mike wilson at NEW MANCHESTER CIGARS in douglasville, ga. i think that eric will back me up on this one. mike will take the time to make the right selections for you, turn you on to some great tips, and talk your ear off about music. great guy and really knows his stuff. also eric or BASSIC83 as we all know him, is another fountain of info. you cant go wrong with his advice either.

Also, New Manchester has a brand "Cigars by Cubans" that are really good- they are rolled by Cubans that aren't located in Cuba...really good smokes! I ordered a small sampling, and as soon as I can, will order some more of them. I need to find more room in my humdor fiirst. I think that several of my cigars will probably be destroyed in a series of small fires...;):D That would give me some room...

Unfortunately, yes. Carlos is a really nice guy, too. Doesn't speak much English at all, but we seemed to be able to get by just fine. He was in really bad shape physically, plus he was really pining for his wife Marina, who passed away two or three years ago. So I'm thinking he has either passed away himself, or possibly is hospitalized. I'm going to check on him today on the way home. He was raising his grandson by himself as well...hell of a guy!

Hey Fellas,
I enjoy a good cigar about once a week. I'm a member PCCP, the Pipe and Cigar Club of Purdue. We get together at a bar, or outside if it's nice, every thursday night to enjoy a good smoke. We take field trips to the better tobacconists in the area as well. We are also sponsored by Torano, so we got a free box every now and then. There are also members of the club that buy stuff in bigger quantities and sell to other club members way below retail, so that is nice. Being in the club has definitely put me alot further along the learning curve than most people that have been smoking for about a year. I'm the type of smoker that likes to try as many different things as possible, so there aren't may things I smoke on a regular basis, but some of my favorites are:

Torano - Signature
Indian Tabac - Super Fuerte Maduro
Rocky Patel - The Edge Maduro
Drew Estate - White Rabbit

Obviously cigars aren't good for your health, but they have a few things going for them, you don't inhale them like most tobaccos, and most high grade cigars are 100% natural, none of those nasty chemicals found in cigarettes. All things in moderation though.
