man, i'd even throw a couple of bucks in to help pay the electric bill for a day if we could do it there again! that place was sweet! Top cats would be cool too, what's they're power outlet situation beyond the stage look like?

As long as it's in the daytime. That's not always the best place to be at night. That's one reason why a few clubs closed on short Vine. We can also go raid Mike's Music and see what overpriced goodies he has on the third floor. He had an Ampeg Devil Bass for a while.

I'd be Mid-day probably. He usually likes to have things like this out of there after 7pm for the bar crowd. As far as the outlet situation goes I can't say that I have ever really given it a look anywhere but the stage. I'll have to get back to you on that. As far as Mike's Music goes thats exactly the only thing that would ever happen to me there is "look". Is he expensive or what!?

Sweet I'll definitely bring the homemade Trowsky OD unit I just finished and the Warlock NJ.

Speaking of Warlocks, had the pleasure of talking with a lady Saturday night at our gig that is with BC Rich's marketing & distribution department. We took a break & she promptly came over introduced herself & her position, then gave me a high five for playing her product. We were trying to pump her for some promotional materials, we'll see. I told her I'd be happy to take any BC Rich basses off her hands that she might have lying around, lol.

Funny where you end up meeting people!!!

Wow, I was actually just thinking about that place for this... My band played there last Thursday for a UC sports team fundraiser, and I was really impressed with their setup. Unfortunately, they didn't have any monitors because some of their power amps blew out. I really would like to play there again... but thats just a side note, I think it would be cool to have it there! Then we can grab some beers throughout, and the best part is I could walk home if I need to! lol. (I'm a college student and I live in the neighborhood...)

Also true. There are worse places to be... you don't have to really worry about anything as long as you aren't out alone at night. But that is a good rule for anywhere...

They aren't too bad as far as steps go. It was like: step, five feet, another step, three feet, etc.

Hmmm... the place from last time or Topcats...
Let's look at it from a practical standpoint.

Here's some of the advantages of the Topcats;

Easy Bar access.

Here's some of the advantages of the last place;

Centrally located with easy access to I-275 for anyone traveling.
Easy, close, and plentiful parking.
Safe, secure location, day or night. (those of us who were there last year know the police are close at hand ;))
Close to hotels and food.
Very easy load in and out. (some of us have seriously bulky and heavy gear :rolleyes:)
Plenty of AC.
Decent acoustics.
Multiple rooms for some isolation.

:D

I will agree that the office/warehouse space is in a much, much better location as far as parking and access are concerned. Top Cat's is a cool little dive, but it would make things much more difficult from a logistical standpoint.

Not to say top cats would be bad, but Bob's place in sharonville was fantastic. and this time I can guarantee that all the basses I bring this time have been purchased from reputable sources so Johnny law should stay off our backs. :)

They re-opened. I don't know when, but I played there last week.

I don't think their bar sells food, but there is a lot of places to eat on that street. AND there is a liquor store across the street :D. hahaha

I definitely understand the moving **** in and out aspect of things though... I would prefer top cats mainly because it would take me 3-5 minutes to get there.

...and for drinking...

Well Sir Edward, I could swing by and pick you up as I live in Price Hill and it's on my way! But if this is on the 15th, I am running sound for Seton & Elder's musical and I don't think I can make it (performance is 3 - 5 and I have to be there @ 1). :atoz:
