Oh, and ModulusAcacia, bring that redwood Acacia PLEEEEEZ?????:bassist:

Consider it done! I'll bring out the big guns this year: the Redwood Acacia, the Pink ivory acacia, the 10-string Acacia, and my new F bass AC5 fretless. The 10-string hasn't left the house for more then a rare band practice, but it's one of the most ridiculous instruments ever built. It sounds like a freight train!

Are minors allowed? (18yr old) =)

Are newbies allowed? I don't know anything about gear since I'm just starting out but sounds fun. What do you guys do on a GTG? From what I've read here sounds like an instrument showcase/social event.

That describes it pretty well-we just get together, hang out, and play basses.

Don't be scared to come out because you're new to the instrument-we all started somewhere. The fact that you're under 21 shouldn't present an issue, since there isn't any alcohol at these things.

Hang out, talk about bass stuff, play all kinds of basses you'd probably never get to play through gear that a lot of us could never afford.

It is a good friendly time. Come on down.

Hey, Andy. I *might* have the Scroll bass by the time we meet. Also the BaCHBird (with any luck)

You better! I keep hearing about these awesome and crazy basses but all I ever see is your smiling face.

Justin, when did you get the F bass? I can't wait to see that.

I will take responsibility since I started this thread. Let's do March 21 at high noon.

Adam; last year was quite successful with your planning. I hope that we can have the same or better success this year.

Bob; is last year's site available?

Mike

Oooh a newbie......
Well, it all starts by flogging any newbies with "the B-string of habitude". A ritual that, some believe, instills the incessant urge to practice one's chops.
I personally believe that it, instead, instills GAS more than anything.
Then we all try eachother's gear or combinations of gear.

I still have the blindfold, but the paddle from last year was broken. Should we insist that the newbie bring his own paddle?

The coconuts are still in good shape.
