FWIW - In the group pic, I am the guy with blue shirt on the left and on one knee. My name is Kurt Gantzer, and I live in Cinci area. I enjoyed Saturday - it was cool - many great basses and bassists... I had the rig in the first room on the left (down the hall) with the Ashdown/Stewart/Accugroove El Whappo, as well as the aforementioned Kramer 8-string, the Roscoe LG-3005, the Pudulla Pentabuzz, the Lakland JO5 Skyline, and Spector Legend-5. I hope to see some of you out playing soon. Until next time ...

That Roscoe, IMO, was one of the nicest playing basses there, if not the nicest. And the tone was immense.

Thank you for letting us play with your awesome toys man!

Not too many folks got to play my P, which bummed me out. I didn't bring a guitar stand, so I had to rest it in its case.

Great playing P, kept up with Adams '64, IMO.

Oh well, there's always C-bus!

I would have liked to have played it, don't know why I didn't?? What electronics have you got in yours? Beside Adam's and glowing hamster's mine sounded really hot, sharp and brittle. It plays really well, just the tone isn't there until I roll the tone knob back.

What he said, to everyone! It was great.

Mine is just straight MIA electronics, for now. Someday I might get Mike, or possibly Justin (If he can) to make it a PJ.

It was in the case in the room with the Ampeg fliptop. I didnt have a guitar stand, so it sat in its case. I wasnt even thinking.

Yeah mine is a '96 Fender black label which is American body and neck assembled Mexico with Mexican electronics, so maybe that was the difference in the sounds.

Saw the faces of bass thing thought I might give it a go, but not too sure.

Right now I'm looking at selling a lot of my gear and upgrading a bit. You guys were really a bad influence on me! :) Cap's Elrick really was the kicker! Already changed amps, now I'm changing basses!

lol

Ok, so I've got a new bass on it's way to me, it's a pretty nice MTD, so I'm going to be posting for sale a LOT of of what I had at the GTG.

My was the gear in this pic, Link Removed

I'll take better pics of stuff when I post the ad's in the classifieds, but since some of you guys got to mess with them, I thought I'd throw it out here first. I'll be putting them in the classifieds in the next few days. (hopefully we'll get some sun soon so I can take some pics)

I'd like to sell the 2 p-basses last, my fretless and my black label, but if there's overwhelming desire I could be convinced to sell them. :)

So the Dean acoustic, the 5-string DeArmond and the Ibanez SR500 in it's case(in the back) are available right away. So give me a yell I'll give you a good deal on em. :)

Thanks

Kingston KZ4 in burled Maple.

No matter how hard I try by degenerating spine just won't let me handle a 5 anymore, so going with a really nice 4, and liquidate just about everything else. So seriously if anyone is interested in any of the gear I had there, lets talk.

It's really one of those double edged swords.

Arthritis in most of my joints, hands, knees, and my spine, along with degenerative disc disease makes it challenging. I've had to simplify a LOT. So I have to go as light as I can, and introduce no torque on my spine, yet at the same time if I don't play, and play standing, I stiffen up and get even worse. So the heaviest bass I've got is the 5, and it's right at 8.5lbs. Justin even put a set of Hipshot Ultralight tuners on it to see if it would help me be able to play it, and while it helped a bit, it still was too much for me to play it for long.

A whole series of meds and Yoga etc keep me going, but I have to watch the mechanical side as well. Some folks won't notice anything and it seems fine to them yet to me, it will have a bit of neck dive.

Speaking of Lap Bass, I saw in the bass player issue with JPJ and the Vultures, he was playing a kind of slide lap bass on a couple songs!
